That ends game one of this tri-series. Pakistan are scheduled to play UAE later on today. We will be there for that one. Do join us then. For now it's bye bye.

Salman Ali Agha | Player of the Match: I saw the first 7-8 overs, it was holding when they bowl slower and I knew if I get in, I am good enough to hit a few sixes against any spinner. I'm not as good as I used to be, we have played so much spin, we came here 10 days early, we know there will be lots of spin and we are up to the challenge. Bowling was outstanding, whoever comes, they bowled really well. Haris and Shaheen are one of the best fast bowlers in the world. The pick of the bowlers for me was Nawaz, he bowled outstandingly well. Not easy for a fingerspinner, he always bowls the tough overs and I'm so happy for him. Scoring above-par and it was 150-160 kind of wicket and knew when we scored 180 it was going to be challenging. Always in team meetings we talk about going above-par. We have lots of batting. We have Faheem at 8 and he is a good enough batter to win a game on his own.

Rashid Khan: Was needed at the end, thought even if we don't win, we needed to get close to the target. Run-rate matters in a tri-series and I tried my best, luckily I got some runs there. This is a wicket of 190-200, we were happy to chase 175-180. The less we restrict them it's an advantage. We started well but we lost wickets during the 13th-15th over and then needed 50 off the last 3 overs. If we had got good overs during 11-16 we could have chased it but that's how T20 cricket is. You need to give yourself time in T20 and not play risky shots. To rotate the strike and not dot up had to be done. Dot balls kills you and it's more effective than wickets. That time rotate the strike was key.

22:31 Local Time, 18:31 GMT, 00:01 IST: Good bowling performance by Pakistan. Helped by the slow Sharjah track. Haris Rauf was the gamechanger with that double-wicket maiden in the 12th over. That turned the game and from there Afghanistan were facing an uphill task. Rashid Khan entertained and gave faint hopes of a miracle with his 16-ball 39 but it was not to be. Gurbaz earlier on attacked in the powerplay and looked dangerous but fell to Nawaz. From 93/2, Afghanistan slipped to 97/7 and that collapse cost them the game. The Pakistan skipper smartly used his spinners including Nawaz to open and then Muqeem through the middle overs. Also he got in himself and Saim Ayub. With the pitch getting slower as the game goes on, it would seem that batting first and getting runs on the board is the way to go here. Stay tuned for the post-match presentation...
